Abstract: The use of Anthropogenic dark earth (TP) in the seedling production substrates can favor the development of nodule legumes. Thus, an experiment was carried out to evaluate the effects of twelve TP crescents on the growth, development and nodulation of two legume species, the palheteira (Clitoria fairchildiana) and sabiá (Mimosa caesalpiniifolia). The experiment was completely randomized design, with five treatments, and nine repetitions for palheteira and ten for sabiá. In the species, a control treatment based on 3:2 (v:v) of oxisol and sand plus addition of chemical fertilizer was used. The other treatments consisted of 3:2 (v:v) proportions of clayey soil and sand, with increasing doses of 0.4; 0.8; 1,2; 1.6 of dark earth (v:v:v). The percentages of TP ranged from 0.0 + fertilization; and with 7.4; 13.8; 19.3; 24.2%. Seeds were collected in the city of Manaus and the Sabiá was subjected to dormancy breaking with boiling water. The two species were sown in plastic boxes, with drainage and a size of 80 x 60 x 20 cm. When the plants presented the first pair of leaflets, they were moved into plastic bags with a capacity of 2 kg of substrate and with dimensions of 23 x 16 cm and diameter of 11 cm after filling, then they were taken to the seedling nursery, with shading screen graduated in 50% shading, with iron structure and cemented floor, located on INPA's V-8 Campus. After planting, the stem height and stem diameter were evaluated monthly, up to 123 days. The seedlings were inoculated with rhizobia strains stored in the germplasm bank of the Solo Microbiology Laboratory-INPA. At the time of data collection, the section of roots and nodules, counting the nodes and separating soil samples were performed for further analysis. After drying in an oven, set at 65 ºC for 72 hours, the dry biomass was weighed. The results suggest that dark earth can be used as a component in the substrate mixture for the formation of palheteira and sabiá seedlings, forming healthy seedlings without symptoms of deficiency. There was no significant difference in the height growth of the palheteira seedlings, and the stem diameter in the proportion of 3:2:0.8 of clayey soil, sand and dark earth (13.8% of TP) did not differ (p ≤ 0.01 ) of the treatment containing chemical fertilization. The treatment consisted of 13.8% of TP was statistically higher than the accumulation of aboveground, leaf, stem, root and total biomass. Correlations show that the greater development of the palheteira was due to nodule activity. In sabiá the combination of 3:2:1.2 and 3:2:0.4 of clayey soil, sand and dark earth (19.3 and 7.4% of TP) showed the highest values for height and diameter of the stem, and the mixture with 13.8 % of TP had the lowest value. There was no significant difference in the results of shoot, roots, leaves and total biomass, but for stem biomass the highest averages were for the mixtures containing chemical fertilization, 7.4 and 13.8% of TP. The addition of TP increased the pH (H2O) and increased the concentration of K, P, H+Al, Ca, Mg and organic matter and all mixtures with TP were classified as sandy clay loam. All treatments nodulated, showing that the addition of TP at concentrations between 7.4 and 24.2% did not inhibit the symbiosis of nodules for both the sabiá and the palheteira and can be used in the production of seedlings of these species.
