Pontederia rotundifolia (Pontederiaceae): host plant of Cornops brevipenne (Leptysminae: Acrididae: Orthoptera) - Scientific note

Abstract

During an excursion in August, 2006 to the mixedwater floodplains in the vicinity of Manaus, Central Amazonia, the authors observed occurrence of six nymphs (early and late instars), six males and three females feeding intensively on leaves of the macrophyte Pontederia rotundifolia L. (Pontederiaceae).
