Lignans from protium tenuipolium

Abstract

An ether extract of the wood of Protium tenuifolium furnished two lignans characterized as (+)-(2S,3S)-2-(3'',4''-methylenedioxybenzyl)-3-(3',4'-methylenedioxyacetophenone)-butyrolactone [1] and a mixture of (—)-cubebin epimers.
