| Abstract: | In this work, we propose to raise the subgenus Aclogryllus to generic status based on characteristics of external morphology and male genitalia. A new Amazonian species of Aclogryllus is also described. Photographs of nomenotypic species and the new Amazonian species are provided along with the description of morphological characteristics, diagnosis and photographs of male genitalia and female copulatory papilla.
