| Abstract: | The ionic levels of the gallbladder bile of 23 species of teleosts from the Rio Negro, Amazon, were analysed. Ionic levels of the gallbladder bile were variable according to the species and could not be related to the feeding habit or fullness of the gut. © 2004 The Fisheries Society of the British Isles. |
