Abstract: | A new amazon Chironomus has been described. It is easily reared in laboratories in shallow containers because the adults swarm and mate near the substrate. At an optimum temperature for the larvae of about 30° C the whole life cycle from egg to adult occurs in 10 to 12 days. © 1968 Springer-Verlag. |
