Abstract: Research life cycle usually focus on the process of data collection, analysis and sharing of data and their results. However, it does not adopt any tacit knowledge model. It has been demonstrated how essential knowledge (implicit and explicit) is to achieve new knowledge. This work presents a conceptual framework aiming to integrate mental models to map semantic elements, from structures of easy insertion to ontologies. Also, consider the semantic annotation for dissemination and reuse in the context of the Semantic Web. The approach of this proposal is to incorporate semantic expressiveness to the ontologies, being the OntoBio the object of study. The platform helps the management of tacit scientific knowledge with distinct levels of representation that can allow the maintenance of knowledge and thus be more efficient and broader to answer complex issues. © Springer International Publishing AG 2018.
