Marcação De Peixes Na Região Do Janauacá Manaus (Am)

Abstract

From 1974-1976 tagging experiments were carried out in the Janauacá lake system, situated near Manaus. 1123 fish were tagged, and 583 of these were Potamorhina pristigaster (branquinha peito de aço). There were 4 recoveries and 2 recaptures. All six specimens were P. pristigaster. With the exception of one specimen, which was found in a neighbouring lake but still within the Janauacá system, all the fish were recaptured in the same lake in which they were tagged.
