Taxonomy of the neotropical freshwater crab family Trichodactylidae, V. The genera Bottiella and Rotundovaldivia (Crustacea, Decapoda, Trichodactylidae)

Abstract

Two genera of the Neotropical freshwater crab family Trichodactylidae, tribes Dilocarcinini and Valdiviini, are revised. The genus Bottiella Magalhães & Türkay 1996 includes three species, B. niceforei (Schmitt & Pretzmann 1968), B. cucutensis (Pretzmann 1968), and Bottiella medemi (Smalley & Rodríguez 1972) respectively, while the genus Rotundovaldivia Pretzmann 1968 is monotypic for R. latidens (A. Milne-Edwards 1869). The taxonomic status of all species is discussed and a short diagnosis for each is provided.
