Essential oil of piper renitens (miq.) yunck leaves and stems (piperaceae) from brazilian amazonian forest

Abstract

The essential oil obtained from the leaves and stems of Piper renitens (Miq.) Yunck., collected from the southern Amazon forest, Brazil was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. The major compounds found in the oil were guaiol (13.9%), germacrene D (13.8%), α-pinene (12.5%) and β-pinene (12.3%). © 2007, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
