Muitas espécies arbdreas das florestas alagiveis da Amazônia nao somente conseguem sobreviver longos periodos de inundaçào, as espécies também são capazes de manter o crescimento de brotos e raizes, floração e fmtificaçáo apesar das condições desfavoráveis de um solo esvaziado por oxigênio.
Abstract:
Many tree species of the Amazonian inundation forest not only suwive long periods of flooding. they are I also able to continue shoot and root growth, flowering, and ftuiting despite the unfavorable conditions of the oxygen-depleted soil.
