Abstract:
The essential oils of Ichthyothere terminalis (leaves and stems) and I. cunabi (leaves) produced from wild plants growing at different locations of Amazon have been examined by GC and GC/MS. The chief constituent found in the leaf oil of sample of, I terminalis collected at Marapanim (PA) was sabinene (18.0%). The leaf oil of I. terminalis collected at Manaus (AM) was dominated by α-pinene (19–8%), sabinene (14.8%) and limonene (35.8%), while the main components identified in the stem oil were α-pinene (13.9%) and limonene (20.0%). The chief components of leaf oil of I. cunabi collected at Vigia (PA) were α-pinene (8.5%) and β-pinene (5.2%). © 1997, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
