| Abstract: | The aim of this research was to study the knowledge of the pupils (5th grade/ primary school) in public schools at Manaus, State of Amazonas, Brazil, about the Amazonian forest and its resources. The interviews were carried out in 14 public schools, using a questionary with open questions, ten pupils of each school were interviewed, making a total of 140 pupils at the end of the study. The results showed the need to intensify the themes about the Amazon region in the school curricula. |
| metadata.dc.description.resumo: | Este estudo teve como objetivo averiguar o conhecimento dos alunos da 5a série das escolas públicas estaduais de Manaus sobre a floresta amazônica e seus recursos. As entrevistas foram realizadas em 14 escolas, com o auxílio de um questionário padrão contendo perguntas abertas. De cada escola foram entrevistados 10 alunos, perfazendo um total de 140 no final da pesquisa. Os resultados mostraram a necessidade de enfatizar nos currículos escolares, assuntos sobre a região amazônica. |
